Nearly 13 million tons of clothes were made in 2018 alone and only 1.7 million were recycled. That’s the weight of 48 cruise ships worth of clothing that went straight to the landfill in just 1 year alone by the United States.

Grant speaks to”GMA’s” Ginger Zee Ginger about shopping second hand and what to look for. Here’s his top tips:

Take photos of your closet
Look for quality materials. Look for natural materials like wools, cottons, silks & leathers. You want to look for those clothes that are going to last along time.
